Floor 3

Floor 3 will be smaller in square footage by a significant amount. In return – the third floor will have just a studio apartment, although I will be able to insert a communications closet in the space. You might wonder why a communications closet for just one room? Just because this is a studio it doesn’t mean it should be of lower quality. The TV wall will be located against one of the neighbor’s wall, and the other walls will have 3 ethernet jacks. This will give you the ability of options. As with the second floor, there will be a washer/dryer combination in the kitchen that would work with a debit/credit card.

Since there is no office space, I would consider for those that work from home create a space in one corner with a sheet or a movable wall. This will allow you to focus on your work with minimal disturbance. Since each wall will have ethernet jacks, it would be easy to plug a computer, printer, and a ATA (Analog Telephone Adapter)/SIP Phone. Just consider that a SIP phone will likely need POE (Power Over Ethernet) to work, and there will only be 2 ports available for you to connect to.

Because your network plugs into another network (for internet), your LAN will be the 192.168.3.xxx range of IP addresses. You would also have 4 ethernet jacks in the communications closet which you can plug NASs or servers in the closet without it being in sight of your residence. Your wifi networks will be f3 and f2-g. f3-g is for your guest network, and will only provide them with internet service. While they will share your LAN, they will not be able to access LAN. resources beyond the internet connection. For both networks, you would have to provide the passphrase for the SSIDs. You would also be able to log into the network server, and manage your LAN’s resources such as providing a static IP address for a particular device. You would do this by going to https://192.168.3.1, and enter the login credentials.
