Security will be modernized, and such will share responsibility. Since this building will be an apartment building (even of 2 units), there will be factors in place. First, no tenant will receive a physical key. This is so the locks don’t have to be changed anytime someone loses a key or moves out. There will be security cameras everywhere to record bad actor behaviors. When entering the building, there will be a public foyer. This foyer will have an intercom system. The visitor will select the appropriate unit, and a buzzer will sound off in the apartment. The tenant will use one of 3 buttons (Talk, Listen, Door). When selecting door, the visitor will be able to enter beyond the public foyer. To allow for peace and quiet, there will be a switch to turn off the buzzer so no one can disturb you at 2AM.
The tenant will gain access to the building by using a bluetooth key. This could be a key fob, or your smartphone. In addition, an Apple Watch will also work. There will be an app that would have to be installed, but this app will allow you into the building, and into your apartment. This is done without the need for physical keys.
If you want a home security system, you would be required to acquire the package, and plan. You would also be required to provide me with a PIN in case I need to enter your unit while you are not home. By using your own choice security service provider, you would have more control and say over what goes on.
