Telephone

Telephone will come in 2 forms. There is cellular and there is VOIP. As of now, I am just with myself. I have a Wifi phone which has a telephone number attached to it, and I have a cellular phone with another telephone number attached to that line. If I was to have a significant other, and she has children, or I decide to foster children, they will be given a Wifi phone that they can use, and there will be a telephone number attached to that phone. This is intended to teach responsible usage of a telephone. Once they are mature enough, they can have a cellular phone.

Cellular

Right now, I see myself as living by myself. I have one cellular phone number, and don’t see the need to have any more. Obviously, since I have just one number, I have just one device. The cellular phone will stay with me at all times.

Family members such as my significant other will have the choice of their own cellular phone. They will also have a home phone line which will be available for them. If they don’t want to rely on a second phone, they can install a SIP client to their smartphone, and that phone will have a cellular line, and a VOIP line. Every individual person will be given an extension that will be 14x.

Any employees will be allowed to have their own cellular phone, but when working – they are responsible to make non-emergency calls as secondary. The delivery drivers will be required to install a SIP client to their phone. When delivering food to a customer, they will use the SIP client to make the call. The customer will see the pizza shoppe as the telephone number calling.

VOIP

As mentioned, the telephone services will be handled by a telephony server. All phones will be IP phones or Wifi phones which will use the standard networking capabilities rather than RJ11. This will allow for more flexibility, as the telephone can plug into any ethernet line, or connect to a Wifi Network. The connections to the PSTN will be handled by a SIP provider which will provide the connections needed, and. the telephone numbers needed. There will be a telephone line for the business which all 111-114 will use that line. This will offer a level of security for the driver as his personal number is not disclosed as long as he has a smart phone, and a data connection. He will simply use the SIP client to make the call, and the pizza shoppe’s phone number will show up. Extension 112 will have a private phone number so vendors and other related communications will ring to. This will also simul-ring with the cellular line to ensure that no important call is missed. However, at 5PM – 9AM, calls will go straight to voicemail. The public line will ring from 11AM – 10PM. From 10PM – 11AM, there will be a message that the shoppe is not taking orders at this time, and give the time range of when they can call.

There will be a house line. This phone number will ring 121-124, and 131-135 extensions. All of these extensions are desk phones which will plug directly into the RJ45 jack. Power will be delivered over the RJ45 jack to assure that there is no need for an extra power plug. Most of the phones will be basic desk phones that can also be wall mounted. The nice thing about this setup is the intercom feature, and the ability to call a particular room. For example, if I had a child – I could use the intercom feature to let every room know that dinner is ready. This could be done right from the kitchen phone.

Extension 141 will be my personal phone number that I currently have. As with now, this will ring my Wifi phone, and be a direct line to me. If I was to have anyone living with me, they will also receive a dedicated telephone number and a Wifi phone for which they can carry with them. This will be an option, especially in the case where the child is too young for their own cellular phone service. If the child is close to the level of maturity to have their own cellular phone, then a cellular phone will likely be purchased, and will just use the Wifi connection to allow for SIP calls rather than having a SIM/eSIM installed.

All incoming phone numbers will support faxing via HylaFax which is a plugin for the telephony server. When there is an incoming call, the server will answer, and listen for a fax tone. If it hears it, then the fax is collected, converted to .pdf, and emailed to the appropriate recipient. If there is no fax tone, the phone will then ring to the appropriate extension. When sending a fax, it will be done via email. All email addresses will be written as ITU-phone-number@sip.fsp.ws. Therefore to send a fax to my personal phone number, it will be written as 18556829751@sip.fsp.ws. The fax will be sent to the appropriate fax line using the appropriate trunk to send the fax. HylaFax will use the return email address to identify which number and coversheet should be used.
