Non-Metallic Barrier Sheathing electrical lines will be used. Electrical lines will be very important as almost nothing can be accomplished without electricity. However, there will be some things that must be considered. Most of the electrical boxes will be at knee height to make it easier for someone in a wheelchair to access the box. The exception to this will be those that are on kitchen counters, or above bathroom sinks. These outlets will be GFI protected, and not have USB-C charging ports. The standard outlets will run every 6 feet (about 2 meters) along the walls. While this might seem like overkill, the idea will be to make sure there are enough outlets to meet the needs of the unit.
There will also be solar panels, and a battery bank system. The electricity will draw from the battery bank and the electricity is conditioned to assure there are no surges or spikes that can damage electrical equipment. There will also be whole unit surge protectors in the circuit breaker to provide for even more protection.
The business will have its own battery and will be given 10% access to the solar panels. This will essentially mean a lighter electric bill on their end. If for some reason I was to not have a business tenant, then I would likely take over the first floor, and place in a restaurant or convenience store (depending on which has the best profit margin). The residence will 75% share of the panels, and as with the business, there will be a battery bank to provide for clean electricity. The common spaces will have 15% of the panels, and is important for use of the elevators, halls, and basement. As with the other two units, there will be a battery bank for everything. With that being said, there will be 3 meters – all of which will need to be serviced and on. They will serve with the following:
- Business
- Residence
- Exterior
Electricity service is provided by Duquesne Electric Company. There is the provider which owns the lines, and the supplier which is where the customer will buy their electricity from. The provider is always Duquesne Electric. The supplier will be provided as an option based on price, values, and ethics that the customer will want. Many will just use Duquesne Electric for their supplier.
