With exception of a 5′ × 5′ space, the second floor is the main floor of the residence. This floor will host almost all of the needed space. This will allow me to shut down the 3rd floor if I don’t have anyone living with me. There will be stairs to get to the upper floor, as well as Elevator 2 which serves floors 2, 3, and elevator room.
Great Room
The Great Room will be the living and dining area all rolled into one. This section of the floor will be an open concept, and therefore provide a means of surveying the area as needed. The great room will have a space for a large TV. The space intended for the TV will have 1 coaxial jack, 5 ethernet jacks, and 3 gangs of electrical outlets. This will allow the TV space to have everything needed while meeting the space constraints of an apartment style living.
Home Office
The Home Office will support the day to day needs of my home, handle postal pen pals, and serve as a second office for when I can’t make it to the back office of the shoppe. In this room, there will be a space for a computer, a desk phone, and an Ooma phone for the back office’s number. There will also be a commercial grade multi-function center that can handle copies, faxes, prints, and scanning. There will be a dedicated tray for standard letter size paper, and at least one tray for #10 envelopes. Since this will support fax capabilities, there will be an ATA to connect the fax line to the telephony server.
Kitchen
The kitchen is as the name implies – a kitchen. There will be counter space to place food at. There will be a center island for preparing for food, and other needs. There will be a refrigerator with ice, and water dispenser. The sink will be a double tub sink, and there will be a dishwasher. Since there is no gas line, the stove will be a glass-top stove with at least 4 burners. The only way I see this getting active use is if I was living with someone I am in a relationship with.
Laundry Room
This room will be next to the lavatory, and will provide a washer/dryer combination. While more efficient than separate systems, it does take longer for things to wash and dry. I would assume for 6 hours which will mean that any laundry that needs to be done will be done overnight. Since the washer hose line will go directly into the sewage line, there will be no need for a laundry sink.
Lavatory
There is little to say here. A toilet, and a sink. Having a lavatory on this floor will allow people to use the toilet without having to go upstairs, or invade my privacy for the primary bathroom.
Primary Bathroom
The Primary Bathroom will have a toilet, double sink, bathtub, and a shower stall. This will allow me, or someone I am in a relationship with the ability to decide what they prefer. I will likely take showers, and will shave in the shower, as well as brush my teeth in the shower. With that in mind, I will run the bathroom sinks every couple of days to keep everything working properly.
Primary Bedroom
The Primary Bedroom is the bedroom where I will sleep. It would have a minimum of two means of egress. There is also a locked fire stairs to exit the building in the case of a fire. The sprinkler system will likely save the residence.
